Total Mom Inc has been breaking down barriers that women face when it comes to launching and growing their businesses and being a caregiver for five years now. The company advocates for women who are misunderstood, underrepresented, and waiting to access working capital or support.

“We do this work to change the narrative around modern businesswomen and to highlight moms in the light they deserve. We still have days where someone assumes when you say “mom” and “owns a business” that she's somehow into multilevel marketing. It’s tone-death and frustrating to hear caregivers misunderstood because of their family situation, especially when we know thousands of founders who run viable businesses and want to be taken seriously...like yesterday,” says Anna Sinclair, Founder and CEO - Total Mom Inc, and mom of 2.

Total Mom’s mission is to continue to support women entrepreneurs as they travel through motherhood and their business journey, as they overcome challenges such as inequality around gender gaps, pay, and finding childcare. In response to these challenges, Total Mom launched Canada’s Total Mom Pitch - more than a business pitch competition, the Pitch program offers a forum for women-led business ideas to be heard, seen, and discovered nationwide.

Many of the previous applicants have landed notable media appearances on TV, been asked to go on Dragon’s Den, and have been featured in Forbes and even on the websites of major financial institutions. Canada’s Total Mom Pitch is known for opening doors and opportunities for women nationwide.

“Our world looks completely different now, and most moms opt for more flexible work and career circumstances. We want fair and equitable opportunities for a thriving career, which often means creating our own jobs and hoping we get funding to see them grow. Women are incredible at driving impact, and working moms want to build beyond the average paycheck. Our goal is to make becoming a successful entrepreneur and running a business while being a parent less overwhelming and more clear. As moms, we already have a lot on our plates, and running a business takes a lot of resources and access to funds. We want to help moms succeed and gain economic and financial independence on their terms” says Sinclair.
